Older students teach: games and German for learning together

Year 10 students teach German through games to their Year 4 primary school classmates.

14-07-2026

This month, Year 10 students shared a very special activity with Year 4 pupils as part of their German lessons. The older students prepared games and activities to teach the younger pupils how to talk about family and pets in German, while also introducing them to new vocabulary in a fun and accessible way.
It was a highly enriching experience for both year groups, as the Secondary students had the opportunity to take on the role of teachers, developing their confidence, creativity and communication skills, while the Primary pupils learnt in a dynamic and participatory way. This type of activity helps connect learning with real experiences and encourages collaboration and friendship across different stages of the school.
