From sport and the creative arts to languages and other extra-curricular activities, students are encouraged to explore their strengths, pursue their interests and embrace new challenges. In doing so, they develop the confidence, resilience and adaptability to thrive both at school and beyond.

Beyond the classroom: sports, activities and leadership

School Houses

School Houses

Since the 2015 - 2016 academic year, every member of the Palacio de Granda community has belonged to one of four Houses: Yellow, Blue, Red or Green. The House system creates a strong sense of belonging, encouraging participation, friendship and shared values.
Through sports, cultural and academic competitions, students develop teamwork, commitment and school spirit, helping each child feel an active part of Palacio de Granda life.

Sports Programme

Sports Programme

At Palacio de Granda, we place a strong emphasis on physical fitness, healthy living and building confidence through sport. Physical Education is part of the curriculum and students also take part in sporting fixtures against other schools and clubs. From an early age, students develop confidence in the water through swimming lessons, while also enjoying a wide range of extra-curricular sports, including soccer, basketball and rhythmic gymnastics. These activities are supported by exceptional facilities, including swimming pools, football pitches and a modern sports centre

Creative and Performing Arts

Creative and Performing Arts

At Palacio de Granda, music, art, theatre and dance are part of both the curriculum and our extra-curricular programme. We also offer the Arts Baccalaureate, providing a pathway for students to develop their talent and explore future opportunities in the creative arts.

Arts education helps them appreciate the richness and diversity of different cultures. It gives learners a powerful means of expression, while developing creativity, performance skills and critical thinking.

Extended care

We offer morning and afternoon classroom care, providing students with supervision and support before and after the school day, from 7.45am to 6.00pm, with recreational activities.
