Natural immersion
Students experience language naturally from an early age, using it actively in meaningful contexts so they can develop fluency, confidence and a natural command of communication.
English bilingualism
Children follow 50% of the curriculum in English from Early Years, guided by native and specialist teachers who make English part of everyday learning and school life.
Cambridge partnership
Students benefit from an English learning programme developed through our partnership with Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment, including the Learning Journey, Quality Seal and Learning Solutions.
Additional language
Students choose French or German as an additional language from Year 3 of Primary School. It is integrated into the curriculum and prepares them to work towards B2 level in official Alliance Française or Goethe-Institut examinations.
Multicultural community
Students learn within a diverse international community, where different languages and cultures are part of daily life. They develop cultural awareness, openness and the confidence to engage with the world around them.
Language support
Learners who join PdG without fluency in Spanish or English receive personalised support through our Language Immersion Programme, helping them settle into school life and progress with confidence.

Early Years
In Early Years, children are introduced to English as a natural language of communication through games, songs, stories and playful activities that make learning engaging and age-appropriate.
Spanish is developed in an integrated way, helping children build oral and written understanding and expression through meaningful experiences designed for our youngest learners.
Primary School
Students learn in both English and Spanish, with teaching time shared approximately equally between the two languages.
They embark on the Spanish curriculum enriched by the IB methodology, developing strong communication skills while learning to think, question and make connections across subjects. Students also begin an additional language, choosing between German and French, while Chinese is available as an extracurricular activity.
Secondary School
Learners strengthen their English through academic comprehension, spoken and written expression and preparation for official Cambridge examinations.
French and German continue as additional languages, supported by language immersion programmes and preparation for official certifications from the Goethe-Institut and the Alliance Française.
Baccalaureate
Spanish teaching focuses on preparation for the PAU, strengthening students’ skills in Spanish language and literature, critical thinking and advanced written and spoken expression. Students may also choose subjects in English according to their academic interests, while continuing their preparation for official Cambridge examinations.
French and German remain available as elective subjects, with opportunities for official certification, the Language Immersion Programme and international activities.
Language learning comes to life through immersion, active participation and meaningful daily experiences. By developing confidence in two or more languages, students gain the communication skills, cultural awareness and open mindset they need to flourish in a connected, ever-changing world.
Our bilingual programme helps students learn English with the same natural confidence as their mother tongue. From the earliest years, 50% of the curriculum is taught in English by native and specialist teachers. Our English learning is supported by the Cambridge University Press programme, helping students work towards C1 level by the end of Baccalaureate.
Our English programme is strengthened through a partnership between the school, Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment. This collaboration includes the Learning Journey, which structures the programme, the Quality Seal and Learning Solutions, offering programme support and professional training resources.
