Ricardo is the General Director of Palacio de Granda, bringing over 25 years' experience in international education and championing an educational model centred on each student’s all-round development. With an extensive background in innovative international school environments, he focuses his work on creating learning experiences that combine academic rigour, emotional wellbeing and a strong foundation in languages.Together with his academic team, he is currently redesigning the school’s educational model through the progressive integration of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and other pioneering pedagogical projects that strengthen inquiry-based learning and critical thinking.Under his leadership, the school has reinforced its active methodological approach and global outlook as a member of ISP Schools, while also consolidating its position as a reference in technological integration through its recognition as a Google for Education Reference School.
José Viñales is known for his approachable manner, clear vision and commitment to meaningful learning. An expert in Singapore Maths, he is one of the pioneers in Asturias in applying this methodology, convinced of its effectiveness in developing logical thinking and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.He combines educational leadership with the creation of a dynamic, stimulating and welcoming classroom environment, where every student feels motivated and confident. His approach focuses on fostering curiosity, consistent effort and confidence in each child’s own abilities, always within a positive and enriching atmosphere.A passionate football enthusiast, José also dedicates his time to the school as a coach, sharing his enthusiasm for sport and promoting values such as teamwork, discipline and personal growth. He also enjoys discovering new places and making the most of every opportunity to switch off and recharge.
Rocío is an education professional with a clear vocation for teaching and extensive experience in secondary and high school education.
A Chemistry graduate, she has built her career by combining her passion for teaching with her scientific expertise. Her professional background includes work in specialist environments such as the Gijón Aquarium, where she was able to apply her training in chemistry to practical and educational contexts.
She currently leads Secondary and High School at Palacio de Granda, driving innovative educational projects and fostering a holistic, inspiring learning experience for her students.
Lara leads the first years of schooling with enthusiasm and dedication. Passionate about early education, Lara believes that children’s first steps in learning are essential to developing their curiosity, independence and confidence.Her work focuses on creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where every child can explore, discover and learn at their own pace. Under her coordination, Early Years promotes creativity, purposeful play and social and emotional development, laying the foundations for strong, lasting learning.Lara enjoys supporting children through their first achievements and moments of discovery, convinced that every early experience helps shape confident, motivated and happy learners. Beyond school, she enjoys observing how children connect with the world and finding inspiration in the creativity and curiosity each one brings.
Aroa is an educational psychologist, with a strong professional background dedicated to supporting students’ all-round development. Her work focuses on emotional education, personalised support and the development of social and personal skills that enable every student to flourish.
Under her leadership, our School Counselling implements programmes adapted to different ages and needs, including initiatives for high-ability students, individualised emotional support and projects that strengthen self-esteem, resilience and effective communication.
Aroa champions an educational approach that brings together academic and emotional development, promoting an environment where learning is experienced as an enriching and deeply human process.
Alejandra is focused on showcasing what makes the school special, enhancing its positioning and promoting initiatives that reflect its innovative character and international outlook. Through digital strategies, creative content and brand projects, she works to build a strong, recognisable image.Her professional background spans different areas of marketing and corporate communications, where she has led campaigns and growth projects for organisations across a range of sectors. This experience enables her to bring a broad, strategic perspective to the development of the school’s institutional brand, always with a focus on creating impact and building meaningful relationships with the school’s different audiences.With a strong passion for constantly evolving environments, Alejandra combines analytical thinking with creative sensitivity. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new cultural expressions, travelling and finding inspiration in music and art.
Angélica plays a key role in supporting families throughout the admissions process. With a strong background in teaching and international education, she ensures that every family experiences a clear, straightforward and welcoming journey.
Her main goal is to guide parents as they explore the educational options available for their children and to help them feel at home in an inclusive, dynamic school community committed to the all-round development of every student.
