At Palacio de Granda, every student is a source of inspiration. Today, we would like to share the story of Victoria G.M., a 14-year-old Year 10 student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), whose creativity and courage have made her the Spanish winner of the fourth edition of the International Technology Olympiad, organised by the NTT DATA Foundation.

A personal project that transforms realities

Victoria developed an educational video game that reflects the everyday difficulties children with autism may face when exposed to stimuli such as noise, music or balloons. In the game, the main character, Vicky, has to make decisions to reduce the sensory impact and continue enjoying the activity.

School and family support: teamwork

Victoria’s success is the result of a shared effort. Her family says:

“Above all, I want to thank the school for what it has done for her. My daughter’s success is the result of teamwork, of taking the family into account, of providing resources, and above all of showing care and humanity. I wish all schools made such an effort to help children feel integrated, happy and motivated, as you do here.”

A model of real inclusion

Victoria’s story is an example of how inclusion and personalised attention can strengthen talent and creativity. At Palacio de Granda, we work to ensure that every student feels valued and supported in their holistic development, respecting their pace, talents and abilities.

At Palacio de Granda, we are deeply proud of Victoria and of all our students who, through effort and dedication, show us every day that learning is a path full of possibilities.
