With the arrival of good weather and rising temperatures in Asturias, the Physical Education and Health area believes it is essential to remind students of the importance of developing healthy habits related to personal care during outdoor physical activity. Hydration is key before, during and after exercise. Drinking water regularly helps maintain good physical performance and prevents heat-related issues such as fatigue or dizziness. It is therefore important that students come to lessons with their water bottle and develop the habit of hydrating frequently. Protection from the sun is also particularly important. Applying sun cream before the activity, as well as wearing a cap on hotter days, helps protect the skin and reduce the risks associated with sun exposure. Likewise, whenever possible, we adapt sessions by choosing shaded areas or adjusting the intensity of the activities to ensure students’ wellbeing. These measures are not simply a response to a specific need; they are part of education in healthy lifestyle habits. Learning to look after oneself, listen to one’s body and act responsibly in demanding weather conditions is an essential lesson that students can carry into their daily lives.
