At Palacio de Granda, we translate our commitment to our pupils into an international and multilingual educational programme that supports students from pre-school through to sixth form. Our school, situated in Granda, Siero, has once again been ranked amongst the best schools in Asturias in 2026: Micole has included it in its selection of the 25 best schools in Asturias, and Forbes has added us to its list of the 100 best schools in Spain for 2026.
Our model places particular emphasis on individual support and the progressive development of each pupil’s abilities. Learning journey

Ages 1 ‒ 5
Begin a joyful, play-based learning journey in a warm, English-speaking environment, building confidence in English and Spanish while exploring the world through discovery and developing social, emotional and physical skills.
Ages 6 ‒ 11
Continue the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) while beginning French or German as a third language, building strong academic foundations alongside life skills, early leadership and global awareness through international learning opportunities.
Ages 12 ‒ 15
Strengthen academic knowledge and shape your identity through the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), developing multilingual fluency, digital competence and social-emotional skills while preparing with confidence for the IB Diploma Programme.
Ages 16 ‒ 18
Choose a pathway in Science, Humanities or Arts while earning the Spanish Diploma and preparing for leading universities through personalised career guidance, Careers Week and professional experiences that build future-ready skills.
At Palacio de Granda, we run a programme that supports students throughout their school career. This continuity allows us to tailor learning to each stage and maintain a close understanding of each student’s academic and personal development.
Our aim is for them to progress on a solid foundation whilst developing independence, curiosity and the ability to tackle new challenges. Teaching is complemented by experiences that link knowledge to real-life situations and help each pupil to play an active part in their own learning process.
Language learning is part of everyday life at Palacio de Granda from the very earliest stages. English is introduced from a young age and, later on, pupils can broaden their language skills with French or German.
Palacio de Granda is part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), an international educational community that connects schools in different countries and enables teachers across the network to share knowledge. ISP currently comprises more than 118 schools and has a presence in over 25 countries and international markets.
Educational excellence from Early Years through to Sixth Form
During the early years, we pay particular attention to the discovery and development of essential skills. As pupils progress, the academic depth increases and new challenges are introduced that encourage greater independence.
This ongoing exposure enables them to use languages in a variety of educational contexts and helps their language skills to develop alongside their other learning. The school’s international dimension also provides opportunities to use these languages in collaborative projects with students from other countries.
We aim to ensure that learning languages has practical applications for pupils’ academic and professional futures. Being able to communicate confidently in different settings broadens educational opportunities and makes it easier to adapt to international contexts.
This membership gives our students access to International Learning Opportunities (ILOs), offering experiences that enable them to collaborate with young people from other countries and take part in international initiatives. These include projects such as Model United Nations, TEDx, Filmmakers and other programmes that develop skills through shared experiences with students across the network.
Being part of ISP also enables our teachers to take part in an ongoing exchange of knowledge and best practice with professionals from other schools, enriching teaching methods and offering new perspectives within the classroom.
In the upper years, preparation for university takes on particular importance. The support we provide helps pupils to recognise their strengths and make academic decisions with an increasingly clear idea of what they want to do after school.

Eco-school
