What's happening
At Palacio de Granda, we translate our commitment to our pupils into an international and multilingual educational programme that supports students from pre-school through to sixth form. Our school, situated in Granda, Siero, has once again been ranked amongst the best schools in Asturias in 2026: Micole has included it in its selection of the 25 best schools in Asturias, and Forbes has added us to its list of the 100 best schools in Spain for 2026.
Our model places particular emphasis on individual support and the progressive development of each pupil’s abilities. Added to this is a multilingual approach and the opportunity to take part in international experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.
The recognition we received in 2026 reflects some of these elements. Forbes highlights our language programme in English, German and French, alongside international programmes and facilities that enable a wide range of academic experiences.
At Palacio de Granda, we run a programme that supports students throughout their school career. This continuity allows us to tailor learning to each stage and maintain a close understanding of each student’s academic and personal development.
Our aim is for them to progress on a solid foundation whilst developing independence, curiosity and the ability to tackle new challenges. Teaching is complemented by experiences that link knowledge to real-life situations and help each pupil to play an active part in their own learning process.
Language learning is part of everyday life at Palacio de Granda from the very earliest stages. English is introduced from a young age and, later on, pupils can broaden their language skills with French or German.
This ongoing exposure enables them to use languages in a variety of educational contexts and helps their language skills to develop alongside their other learning. The school’s international dimension also provides opportunities to use these languages in collaborative projects with students from other countries.
We aim to ensure that learning languages has practical applications for pupils’ academic and professional futures. Being able to communicate confidently in different settings broadens educational opportunities and makes it easier to adapt to international contexts.
Palacio de Granda is part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), an international educational community that connects schools in different countries and enables teachers across the network to share knowledge. ISP currently comprises more than 118 schools and has a presence in over 25 countries and international markets.
This membership gives our students access to International Learning Opportunities (ILOs), offering experiences that enable them to collaborate with young people from other countries and take part in international initiatives. These include projects such as Model United Nations, TEDx, Filmmakers and other programmes that develop skills through shared experiences with students across the network.
Being part of ISP also enables our teachers to take part in an ongoing exchange of knowledge and best practice with professionals from other schools, enriching teaching methods and offering new perspectives within the classroom.
During the early years, we pay particular attention to the discovery and development of essential skills. As pupils progress, the academic depth increases and new challenges are introduced that encourage greater independence.
In the upper years, preparation for university takes on particular importance. The support we provide helps pupils to recognise their strengths and make academic decisions with an increasingly clear idea of what they want to do after school.
For all these reasons, we are one of the best schools in Asturias and in Spain.
Our educational programme has enabled Palacio de Granda to feature in various educational rankings. In 2026, Forbes included us in its list of the 100 best schools in Spain, a national ranking in which the school is specifically named amongst the selected institutions.
Micole included Palacio de Granda in its list of the 25 best schools in Asturias for 2026, compiled on the basis of results, metrics and evaluations.
These accolades accompany a programme that we continue to develop each academic year. For us, educational quality is built through the constant evolution of learning and the ability to offer each pupil opportunities that match their potential.
If you are looking for a school for your child, Palacio de Granda offers an educational programme that combines educational continuity, multilingual learning and a clear international focus.
Our aim is to support each student as they grow and to provide them with the tools they need to thrive both within and outside the classroom. As a member of the ISP, we further expand learning opportunities through international projects and shared experiences with students from around the world.
Palacio de Granda is situated in Siero, in a natural setting that provides space for a range of educational activities.
This environment forms part of the school’s day-to-day experience and enables many activities to take place outside the traditional classroom. These spaces thus support an educational programme that aims to offer pupils different ways of discovering and learning.
Visiting a school in person gives you a much better understanding of what your child’s day-to-day life will be like. At Palacio de Granda, we want you to be able to tour our facilities, discover our educational programme and have all your questions about the different stages answered directly.
